Seeking the Kingdom Not Made by Hands Part 1

Image
"In the beginning" is how Genesis 1:1 begins and goes on to state that  heaven and earth was created by God with his spoken word.  We also see this same type of wording in the New Testament book of St. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.  The difference here is that the word " was " meant it has existed for all eternity. Remember it was God's spoken Word that created all things into existence .   Hebrew 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.  It is through our faith that we believe that the world was framed by the Word of God which we are not able to see.  Jesus told Thomas in John 20:29 something similar when he said, "Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." Now this was concerning Jesus being alive but this is t...

Study Guide to My Posts

Image
I have friends who have been waiting on me to finish some of my studies.  I don't have them all done but I do have quite of few ready to go.  I have also went through and added the link at the bottom of each study so all you have to do is click the link to the next one study on the list.  I hope you enjoy studying God's word as much as I do.  Several of you have helped me along on this journey as you ask questions I became familiar with God telling me to search it and see what I might learn and share with others.  Feel free to ask me if you have any questions you may have come to mind.  I am always adding to my studies as God reveals more about them at different times.  So I always say they are a work in progress.  God Bless each of you.

A Call to Repentance

Image
In Matthew 22 Jesus told a parable about a wedding feast where a king sent his servants out with invitations, but the guests were not interested in going as they were busy doing their own things and did not want to bother to attend.  The king sent out his servants again telling them to invite anyone they saw on the streets that way the wedding feast would be full of people.  One man came to the feasts not wearing the proper wedding attire and was cast out because this was a special celebration that required appropriate attire.  Then in Matthew 22:14 states, "For many are called, but few are chosen."  Jesus is given an invitation to all to join him in a wedding feast of the bride of his church which is an invitation to be with him for all eternity in the kingdom in heaven.  There is a time in everyone's life where they are given an invitation to choose a life with Christ.  This happens in many different ways. Once God has given you the invitation the ne...

Study of Habakkuk: Faith and Justice Go Hand-N-Hand

Image
The book of Habakkuk is not a book that I have heard mentioned very often. I am going to use some other scriptures to bring us up to the time of Habakkuk who was the eighth minor prophet in the Old Testament believed to have been a paid prophet in the king's palace or king's court. His name meant "embracer." He lived during the time of a great revival in Judah under the reign of King Josiah who had discovered the Book of the Law.  Josiah's father and his grandfather reigned over Judah but worshipped idol gods and did not follow after the one true God. King Josiah was just eight years old when he became king as we are told in 2 Kings 22:1. The next verse lets us know that he did right in the sight of the Lord.  During his 18th reign he sent a message to the high priest to start repairs on the temple, The House of the Lord.  It was during this time that the high priest found the Book of the Law and sent it to King Josiah.  He had Shaphan read it to him and when King...

Mystery of the Precious Gems: A Study of the Twelve Tribes

Image
First, there is prophetic meaning in the number twelve all throughout the bible.  It symbolizes God's power and authority and perfect governmental foundation.  It may also symbolize God's completeness. God made a covenant with Father Abraham that he would have seeds that no man can number like the stars in the heaven and like the sand on the seashore.  Abraham's grandson that was naturally born named Jacob, and later renamed by God, Israel who had twelve sons, each son would come to represent a tribe of Israel that were God's Chosen People.  Exodus 24:4) says, "And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.  Moses constructed the twelve pillars of stone at the foot of the Mount Sinai as a memorial to God.  The stones represented the twelve tribes of Israel and signifies a new generation committing to a covenant as they establish t...

The Rise and Fall of a Chosen Earthly Nation of Abraham

Image
God established a nation for himself through his covenant with Abraham. Genesis 17 tells us that the Almighty God appeared to Abram who was 99 years old and said unto him, "I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2) And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3) And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him saying, 4) As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.  He changed his name from Abram to Abraham who he will make exceeding fruitful, "and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.  7) And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and they seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to they seed after thee.  8) And I will give unto thee, and to they seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God....
